About this piece
Natural corundum coloured by iron and titanium together, heated — which is true of the large majority of blue sapphire sold anywhere. This site does not stock beryllium-diffused sapphire, where colour is forced into the surface layer at high temperature and can be lost if the stone is ever recut. Mohs 9 and no cleavage make sapphire the most forgiving stone in this catalogue.

Bought this for my mother's September birthday. What sold me was the treatment line on the product page — it says heated, plainly, next to the price. Three other sites I looked at said nothing at all.

Colour is a touch darker than the photograph in low light, which the page did warn about. Chain is finer than I expected at 45 cm. No complaints about the stone itself.
