About this piece
A natural quartz crystal termination — six prism faces meeting six rhombohedral faces at the tip — capped in silver and hung from a bail. The surfaces are as they grew: striations across the prism faces, small conchoidal chips where it separated from its matrix, and internal veils where growth was interrupted. This piece is described in mineralogical and visual terms only. Because each crystal grew independently, length, girth and clarity vary substantially between pieces; the photograph is representative and yours will not match it exactly.
